Several sixth graders had artwork on display in the halls for a few years because their artwork showed great creativity and craftsmanship. As a sixth grader they can now take their artwork with them as they leave Switzer Elementary. Thank you for helping us keep the halls of Switzer beautiful!

Sixth graders created these mixed media sculptures using both metal tooling and clay. They created an ocean animal out of metal tooling and sharpie markers and then they created a base for their animal out of clay to look like an ocean habitat. Students showed a lot of actual texture when making these sculptures. Fourth graders learned about creating actual texture and using form when they created these clay crocodiles. After the crocodiles were fired in the kiln, students were able to paint them using various shades of green tempera paint with some small parts of white, pink, or blue added on.
