_After learning about famous American artist JOHN JAMES AUDUBON, the fifth graders tried their hand at drawing realistic birds. First they picked out a bird photograph of their choice. Then they had to measure and draw a grid on their photo and their paper to help them with the spacing and placement of their bird on their paper. After sketching out their bird with a pencil, they colored in their drawing using a combination of color sticks and chalk pastels.

Mrs. W.About Me: This is my eighth year teaching art at Switzer Elementary. I see every K-6 student for art once a week. My goal during this time is to nurture students' creativity through exploring different art mediums and concepts. By exploring art, students will develop essential knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the future. Categories
