The first graders created these Spiral Snail Paintings to show that they can create with lots of different types of lines. After discussing the many different types of lines and the directions they can go in, we drew out a snail using a spiral line. Then we added more lines to finish off the snail and the background such as zig zag, bumpy, or straight lines. Last we painted over our lines with black paint to make them really stand out. The second week we added the element of color to our painting to complete our lesson on lines.

Mrs. W.About Me: This is my eighth year teaching art at Switzer Elementary. I see every K-6 student for art once a week. My goal during this time is to nurture students' creativity through exploring different art mediums and concepts. By exploring art, students will develop essential knowledge and skills that will prepare them for the future. Categories
