Congratulations to all of the Switzer Students who have pieces of art in the annual UCS Fine Arts Festival! Here a few pictures of students who made it to the art show to share their art with their families. It was great to see all of those smiling faces! The show is still open every night the rest of this week from 5-8pm. The annual UCS Fine Arts Festival is starting tonight (April 20th) !! If you would like to view some amazing works of art come out to Ewell Elementary school and see artworks from Kindergarteners through 12th graders. Every school in UCS is represented. The community is welcome even if you don't have a student in the show. Below is more information and pictures of our Switzer Elementary Displays.

The third graders learned about artist Henri Matisse and then created these cool collages by cutting out organic and geometric shapes from painted papers. They could arrange and glue down the shapes on their paper any way they chose.
The second graders learned about the color wheel and then created these weavings showing color wheel order. They used oil pastels to color on their paper backgrounds and then cut and wove strips of colors through the background.
The kindergarteners created these self portraits using shapes for their head and body and lines for the details. They also created a pattern for their background using construction paper crayons.
